Life update

I haven’t blogged in a while. So what’s been happening? Things have been moving forward with my long term goal of moving to the UK. Musically, I’ve been working on and off on the Chaos Theory album (we’ve stopped gigging) and my own Vexmodular project . With that, I’ve also lost contact with my friends, and it feels like I’m alone, not unhappy, but isolated. I’ve also reaffirmed the value of my family and how amazing they are. Something else that has been keeping me busy is the launch of www.i-feel.co.uk which is a kind of emotive microblogging site (ala Moodmill), but more toned down and elegant. I’ve started to appreciate the intricacies of wine, and I’ve had a birthday. Also I’m still secretly in love with mememolly, but I’ve learned to appreciate the fact that stars can be appreciated from afar.

Paint the sky with music

Being able to create music in a band with your closest friends is a privilege and an honor that I will be eternally thankful for.

The ability to splatter your emotions into the air, the feeling of accomplishment as 3 different lives converge for the sake of one sound, and the opportunity to create an album of musical snapshots that represent the moments in time that partially defines us.

Tomorrow we’ll start an EP of of about 6 songs that will be a form of documentation, to prove that there once was a band called Chaos Theory and that together, we spilled our collective emotive guts into innocent ears, with the very best of intentions.

Here’s to endings and new beginnings.

With merciless love,

Home is where the heart is

My cousin and I flew back yesterday, and came home to a very hot Pretoria. During the first early hours of 2008 it started raining on the beach, which resulted in me battling a cold/fever and spending the first day back home in bed.

Thankfully I’m much better now, and have been looking through the pictures we took down in Plett. Some wonderful pictures for the photo albums and memory banks. They’ll make it just that little bit harder to pack it all up and head for the UK later this year.

I have the best friends, and family in the entire world.

Goodbye 2007, Hello 2008

I spent the end of 2007 in Nature’s Valley in the Eastern Cape, with some amazing friends. Click here for the flickr set.

Oh yes, and, happy new year :)
